Danielle Burbank

Danielle is originally from Crystal, New Mexico located on the Navajo Nation. Her clans are Hashk'ąąhadzohi (Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A-Line), born for Tséńjíkiní (Cliff Dwellers People), maternal grandfather Tábąąhá (Water's Edge) and paternal grandfather Dziłtł'ahnii (Mountain Cove). In Navajo/Diné you introduce yourself with your mother, father and grandfathers' clans to represent who and where you come from. Danielle has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Cameron University and Master of Arts in Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona. Before TeachingBooks Danielle was a community college librarian for 13 years. She started her library career as a school librarian at Crystal Boarding School. When describing her position with TeachingBooks to her daughter, she exclaimed, "Lucky! You mean your job is to know children's books and teach people about books all day?!"
