Eloy's beloved abuela is dying of cancer, and the boy will do anything to save her. He has heard that the dirt at Santauria de Chimayo has curative powers. Going against his parents' wishes, Eloy travels to this place in the hot New Mexican sun. Along the way, he learns as much about himself as he does about the power of faith and unconditional love.
