When Suzy Goose and her farm animal friends gather around their Christmas tree, they notice at once that it’s missing a star on top. Confident Suzy declares that she’ll get a star, “just like that bright one in the sky.” Her first attempt involves swooshing down a hill and rocketing high into the air, “but it was not quite high enough.” Next she tries jumping from a fence and a pile of logs, with the same result. Never one to give up easily, Suzy decides to walk to the star and sets off through the blowing wind and falling snow, but she soon realizes that she’s lost and alone on Christmas Eve. Soon the sounds of her friends (“Hee-haw! Moo, moo! Honk, honk! Oink, oink!”) call her back home, where Suzy discovers that the bright star in the sky is positioned perfectly above the tree.
