Book Description
for Louie's Goose by H.M. Ehrlich and Emily Bolam
From Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC)
A fresh treatment of an oh-so-familiar theme: the relationship between a child and a most-favored toy that has been elevated to the status of comforting and constant companion. For preschooler Louie, that companion is a goose named Rosie (pictured with endearing and amusing pluckiness in Emily Bolam’s illustrations). Louie’s mom and dad have both had a hand in patching and reattaching parts of his well-worn friend. When Rosie takes an unexpected swim at the beach, Louie seeks aid for his soggy companion and discovers that his mommy and daddy can’t fix everything. But with his mother’s encouragement, Louie takes charge of the situation and makes a surprising discovery. (Ages 2-4)
